The “Inner Hygiene” Office

June 24, 2026 • Buryana

– Good afternoon, I was told this is the office for inner hygiene?

– In a sense, yes. Please come in, undress, and leave your thoughts on the hanger.

– Oh… so I’m not mistaken?

– It depends on what you are looking for and what you need.

– Well,… I’m looking for a way to air out my anxieties, rinse out the guilt, wash a few doubts, throw the anger over the balcony, and, if there is time left, try to remember what it feels like to be a living human being.

– I understand. A standard case. The mandatory equipment you will need is as follows; you may write it down: a bucket of patience, two handfuls of self-irony, a spoonful of tenderness toward yourself, a pinch of curiosity, one little corner of the heart that is not afraid to admit things, and the goodwill not to run away at the first smile. Oh,… and, if possible, at least 10 minutes a day in which you do not scroll through the news.

– Is that all?

– Actually, also a wide-open imagination. Without it, stories do not work.

– Ah, is whisky or a little rakia allowed?

– It is. Especially as compresses for a wounded sense of humor.

– Please explain. Is what you offer treatment, therapy, or some kind of public mockery?

– It depends on who reads it and how. It is more like a conversation. For some, it is like chicken soup for the soul; for others, like a cold shower. Sometimes both happen at once.

– And all this — without a prescription, rules, or instructions?

– Only with feeling. If you feel something… stay. If you don’t — you can still stay. No one will chase you away. Here, we are not looking for a client, but for an accomplice.

– An accomplice in what?

– In the attempt to understand yourself… but without taking yourself too seriously. In observing the world as you experience it — confused, funny, difficult, beautiful. In those small inner flashes that sometimes appear between one “I can’t do this anymore” and one “well, maybe I’ll try after all.”

– So this is not therapy?

– No, but sometimes it works like that.

– And still, who is behind all this?

– Buryana. Or at least that is the name of the woman who decided to speak about the things that are usually left unsaid and turned her inner disorder into small readings with a taste of truth.

– So Buryana will heal me?

– No. But something more essential and rarer may happen to you — you may meet yourself and not run away. You may wish to become part of this walk inward.
